KHA will host two Swing Bed Seminars for Prospective Payment System (PPS) hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) at KHA Headquarters in Louisville as follows:
- April 11-12
- April 13-14
Mary Guyot with Stroudwater Associates will instruct both courses. The seminar is supported by the Rural Hospital Flexibility Program in an effort to keep
costs as low as possible for rural hospitals.
On Thursday, June 12, CMS released a notice regarding changes to the Low Volume Hospital (LVH) and Medicare Dependent Hospital (MDH) exception payments for the last 6 months of FY 2014.
This document addresses payment for these programs only for the second half of fiscal year (FY) 2014 (April 1, 2014, through September 30, 2014). CMS proposed to implement the statutory changes for the first half of FY 2015 (October 1, 2014, through March 31, 2015) in the FY 2015 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS)/Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH) PPS proposed rule that appeared in the May 15, 2014 Federal Register.
